October Box No. 14: Movie Night

October Box Reveal: Movie Night

Box No. 14 | October 2026

14th edition of GRAINED Gluten-Free Ritual Snack Box from Sweden

This month is less about dinner and more about the ritual around the film.

Picking something to watch. Arguing a little. The lights going low. Snacks everywhere. Sweet, salty, artificial, nostalgic, a little excessive.

If September was thoughtful and sensory, October is a bit more playful. A little more Hollywood.
A little more corner-shop run before the movie starts.

And for the first time, this is also our most mysterious box so far. Some of the products come in different flavours depending on the box - which means your Movie Night might not look exactly like someone else’s.

What did you get?

THE MAKERS & THE PRODUCTS

Boxer Gifts (UK) – Lifestyle Item

A British family business started in 1982 because founder Jamie O’Brien thought the gift world had become too boring. More than forty years later, the company is still run by the family and still makes slightly silly things on purpose.

01. Quick Flix

Draw a movie category, roll the dice to see how many answers you need, then race against the 30-second sand timer.
→ Play a few rounds while deciding what to watch.
→ Loser gives up control of the remote.

Fiddle’s (DK)

You met Fiddle’s in our May box.

When we saw what they had launched next, we had to bring them back: pasta turned into chips.

Their new Pasta Chips are made in Denmark from a corn-based pasta, so they are both gluten-free and vegan. Marinara brings tomato, basil, garlic and herbs into something that somehow sits between pasta night and a bag of crisps.

02. Pasta Chips - Marinara

Pasta, but crunchy.
→ Straight from the bag is the point. Or use them with a tomato or garlic dip if you want to make the idea even more Italian.

Blanco Niño (IE)

Blanco Niño started because founder Phil Martin opened a Mexican restaurant in Dublin and could not find corn tortillas that tasted like the ones he loved in Mexico.

So he went there to learn. Today their chips are still made using nixtamalisation, the ancient process of cooking and soaking whole corn before grinding it into masa.

03. Creamy Jalapeño Tortilla Chips

Creamy, corny, gently spicy.
→ Eat them alone, or keep them for the next product.

Uhhmami (DK)

Uhhmami was founded by Michelin-starred chef Frank Lantz in Denmark. His idea was to take the deep flavour-building tricks used in professional kitchens and turn them into simple plant-based seasonings for everyday cooking.

04. Cheese’ish

Cheese’ish is basically cheese flavour in seasoning form - organic, plant-based and gluten-free. Use it on pasta, in Caesar dressing, mac & cheese, sauces. You can also stir it into creamy textures for a quick cheese-style dip.
→ Movie Night idea: mix Cheese’ish into yoghurt or cream cheese.
→ Serve with the Blanco Niño chips.

Cassavida (US)

Cassavida is a US brand based in Miami, founded by Bolivian siblings Carlos and Christina Schenstrom. Their idea is to introduce more people to the food culture they grew up with in Bolivia. The brand began with cuñapés - traditional cassava and cheese bites - and has since moved into other crunchy snacks. Their products are made in Bolivia.

05. Crunchy Cornbread Bites

A different kind of cinema crunch.
Not quite a cracker, not quite cornbread anymore.
→ Put them next to the Cheese’ish dip or keep them for soup later and use them almost like crunchy croutons.

Renée Voltaire (SE)

Another revisit. You met Renée Voltaire in our July Beach Bag, and since then we discovered a part of the range you rarely see in ordinary stores: all the baking mixes. There are cookie, brownie, pizza base, flatbread, muffin and cake mixes, bun mix and more. We ended up bringing the range into the GRAINED shop as well.

06. Gluten-Free Cookie Mix

This one is organic, vegan and gluten-free, made with almond flour, coconut sugar, rice flour, tapioca flour, baking powder, vanilla and salt. No mysterious extras. 2 tbsp oil + 2 tbsp water + 1 tbsp agave. Bake at 170°C for 15-20 minutes.
→ Add chocolate chunks, nuts or jam if you want. Best trick: bake them just before the movie so the whole room smells right.

JOM (SE)

JOM started with founder Josefin’s love of the very Swedish tradition of lördagsgodis - Saturday candy.

She wanted the same soft, fruity gummy experience, but organic and plant-based. JOM became the first company to produce organic candy in Sweden.

And the name? Just One More.

07. Gourmet Gummies - Nostalgic Cola

A very familiar flavour in a more grown-up form. Soft, chewy cola gummies with that classic nostalgic candy-shop taste.
→ Best saved for the film itself. The proper Movie Night candy.

Kelsi’s (US)

Kelsi grew up making food with her mother and later trained in raw-food cooking with her. One recipe kept following her for years: Brownie Batter Bites.

People kept asking for them, and eventually that recipe became Kelsi’s. Today the bites are made with simple whole-food ingredients, sweetened with dates and honey, without gluten, dairy, soy or refined sugar.

08. Mystery Brownie Bite

Your box contains one:
• Double Fudge
• Rich Raspberry
• Salty Peanut Caramel
→ Soft and gooey at room temperature.
→ Firm if chilled.

Ateljé Malva (SE)

This one has a surprisingly good history lesson behind it.

Ateljé Malva was started by Isa and Klara in Nacka, after years of making marshmallows for their own families. Everything is made in small batches, cut and packed by hand.

And the name Malva is not random.
The English word marshmallow comes from the marsh mallow plant, whose root was historically used in early versions of the sweet.
Swedish word: Läkemalva.

Ateljé Malva actually brings that origin back into the recipe by using organic marsh mallow root in their marshmallows today.

09. Mystery Marshmallows

Your box contains one of two mixes:
• Sea Buckthorn / Rosehip / Blackcurrant
• Prosecco / Strawberry / Coconut / Mango
One feels very Nordic.
The other sounds like somebody ordered drinks.
→ They are handmade with real fruit purées, spices and freeze-dried berries, so eat them while they are still at their softest.

PopDelicious (NL)

PopDelicious started because its founder was eating popcorn every day and got bored with the same flavours. After seeing the more playful gourmet popcorn culture in the US, she started experimenting at home. Her six-year-old son eventually asked: “Why don’t we just start our own popcorn shop?”

So they did. Today, PopDelicious makes popcorn in the Netherlands in small batches, with a huge range of sweet, savoury and slightly unexpected flavours. Exactly the kind of brand we wanted for the Night.

10. Dill Pickle Popcorn

Tangy, salty, dill-heavy and much more addictive than it sounds.

11. Mystery Popcorn

The second PopDelicious bag is different depending on your box.
You might get:
• Cheesy Cheddar
• Red Velvet Cheesecake
• Pink Cotton Candy
• Sicilian Lemon
• Blue Cotton Candy
• Bounty Protein Popcorn
• Raspberry Macaron

Some make perfect sense.
Some are exactly the opposite.

→ Sweet flavours work almost like dessert.
→ Cheesy flavours can be mixed with the Dill Pickle popcorn for your own strange cinema blend.

October Playlist

A small extension of the box.

The October playlist is built around the memory of cinema, rather than one particular soundtrack.
Old trailers. Samples. Opening credits. VHS fragments. Something nostalgic, something dreamy, something slightly artificial. At moments it should almost feel like being inside a popcorn machine.

→ listen to the October playlist
