August Box No. 12: Outdoor Dinner

August Box Reveal: Outdoor Dinner

Box No. 12 | August 2026

12th edition of GRAINED Gluten-Free Ritual Snack Box from Sweden

July was about taking summer with you. August is about asking it to stay a little longer.

The days are still warm, but the evenings start to matter more: a table outside, bread passed from hand to hand, something cold in the glass, friends staying longer than planned.

In Sweden, we have kräftskiva. Elsewhere it might be aperitivo, a garden dinner or simply everyone bringing something to the table. This box isn't about one tradition. It's about that late-summer instinct to gather and share.

THE MAKERS & THE PRODUCTS

Epic Linen (LT) – Lifestyle Item

First, set the table. Epic Linen is a fourth-generation family story rooted in Lithuanian linen craftsmanship. Today, Ieva and Mindaugas design and make their pieces in Klaipėda, carrying traditional techniques into simple, modern objects made to last.

01. Dusty Purple Linen Napkin

Stonewashed linen in the exact kind of imperfect lavender we love.
→ Use it, wash it, use it again. Linen only gets softer with time.

Forneria del Senza Glutine (IT)

This is one of our finds of the year. Forneria grew from Michele's work in gourmet pizza, before his sons Vincenzo and Giovanni turned the family's experience into an artisanal gluten-free bakery in Puglia in 2020.

We taste a lot of alternative bread. This was one of those rare moments where the texture and quality genuinely stopped us mid-bite. Not "good for gluten-free". Just really, really good.

02. Puccia

Soft, airy Italian bread made to be filled.
→ Heat at 200°C for 3-4 minutes, then fill with tomatoes, burrata, grilled vegetables or whatever is on the table.

03. Focaccina

Golden and crunchy outside, soft inside, made for tearing and sharing.
→ 3-4 minutes in the oven, then olive oil and flaky salt.

04. Cornetto

Think of it as the Italian cousin of the French croissant. Cornetto are usually softer, sweeter and less buttery, often with a more tender, brioche-like crumb rather than lots of crisp flaky layers.
→ The morning-after chapter of Outdoor Dinner.
→ Save this one for tomorrow's coffee.
→ 3-4 minutes in the oven.

Lady Joseph (ES)

The story starts with Josephine, a French woman who fell in love one summer in Bordeaux and moved to La Rioja. In 1926, she opened a tea room in Haro that became a meeting place for locals and travellers. Her grandchildren continue the tradition today. Quite fitting for a box about getting people around a table.

05. Fig & Almond Cake

Dense, naturally sweet little slices made specifically for cheese.
→ Try with Manchego, blue cheese or something properly aged.

Chelsie's (SE)

Chelsie's is familiar territory for GRAINED by now - and exactly the kind of maker we like returning to. Chelsie and her small team roast everything batch by batch at their roastery in Nacka, Stockholm, which opened in 2015.
This time, we're taking Chelsie's off the breakfast shelf and onto the dinner table.

06. Roasted Nuts - Lemon & Rosemary

Citrus, herbs and proper crunch.
→ Pour into a bowl before everyone arrives.
→ NOTE: They probably won't survive until dinner.

07. Salad Topping

The crunch your salad was missing.
→ Tomatoes, greens, feta or burrata, olive oil, this. Done.

Twinpop (FR)

Twin sisters Camille and Béryl thought popcorn deserved a life beyond the cinema. Made in Normandy with carefully selected French ingredients, Twinpop treats popcorn like part of the apéritif, borrowing flavours from French gastronomy instead of the usual routine.

08-09. Chèvre + Miel de Fleurs and Truffe + Poivre Noir Gourmet Popcorn

→ Serve both flavours and let the table pick a side.

Ti Fa Bene Bio (IT)

A GRAINED revisit. We first introduced Ti Fa Bene Bio in our February box through their typical Italian biscuits. The bakery moved into organic production in 2007, with the idea of creating something good from excellent raw materials. This time we came back for both sides of the table: savoury first, sweet later.

10. Chickpea + Turmeric Crackers

Organic chickpea crackers with turmeric and extra-virgin olive oil - rich in fibre and a source of protein.
→ Add whipped feta, hummus or a tomato dip and pass them around.

11. Baci di Dama - Almond

Two little almond biscuits held together by 70% dark chocolate.
→ Espresso. That's all they need.
→ Or filter-coffee.

OH MY GUM! (UK)

Founder Malak started OH MY GUM! after discovering that conventional chewing gum contains plastic. She left luxury-fashion recruitment and spent over a year developing a plant-based alternative. The candy offer has grown since then. For our dinner, we chose something sweet and something for after.

12-13. Sugar-Free Strawberry Bonbons and Mints

Sugar-free, vegan strawberry sweets.
→ Leave them on the table when the plates disappear.

Vegan, sugar- and aspartame-free mints.
→ The official signal that dinner may be over. The conversation doesn't have to be.

House of Bon (FR)

From Sydney to Marseille, founder Michelle brought more than a decade of experience running a wholefoods café and catering business into House of Bon.

14. Pecan Tart Power Ball

Organic Power Ball made in Marseille from simple ingredients and without refined sugar.
→ Yes, this one is intentionally small. Not everything at an Outdoor Dinner has to be shared. Eat this quietly when nobody is looking.

August Playlist

A small extension of the box.

This month’s playlist was made for the table. For friends arriving while you’re still cooking, passing plates around, and staying outside long after dinner is over.
A loose mix of folk, dub, ambient, leftfield pop and soft electronics - changing slowly as daylight disappears.

September 'Anniversary Edition' — now available to pre-order

One year of GRAINED. So we saved some of the good stuff for this one.

September marks one year since we sent our very first monthly box.

For our Anniversary Edition, we're bringing together some of the products we've been fascinated by, brands we've wanted to work with for a long time, returning favourites and a few discoveries that simply felt special enough to save for the occasion.

Expect 12+ premium gluten-free finds across sweet, savoury and pantry - with more generous formats, special collaborations and products that remind us why we started GRAINED in the first place: finding things you wouldn't easily discover on your own.

And because turning one deserves a little extra, this will be our most generous box of the year, with a total product value of over 1,500 SEK / €135 / $160.

Plus: a limited GRAINED anniversary collectible, made especially for this edition.
